Dr. Adams, the irrepressible Professor Ptolemy Higgs and the old soldier Sergeant Quick follow a mysterious ring to the tableland of Mur, where the descendants of an ancient Abyssinian people live in a city carved from the mountain. Their young queen Maqueda wants help against the Fung, a fierce neighbouring tribe with a colossal idol, and the Englishmen soon need every trick they have.
A lively late lost-world romance from the author of King Solomon’s Mines, carrying the imperial attitudes of 1910. Download the free EPUB.
