When Tim O’Callaghan dies after a long sickness, he leaves his widow seven boys and nothing else. Brave, cheerful and devout, she moves the family off the rented farm and into town, where Pat, the fifteen-year-old eldest, and his brothers find work, face bullies and learn that diligence and loyalty can lift a family out of want.
A heartening family story of the 1890s, with Irish dialect of the period, for readers who like underdogs. Download the free EPUB.
