Joseph sold as a slave and raised to rule, Miriam watching over the infant Moses, Moses in Midian, Samson and the chariot of fire that carried Elijah away are among the Old and New Testament stories retold here. Each is told simply for children, with notes on Eastern life such as the potter at his wheel.
