Richard Arnold, a half-starved young engineer in a South London garret, finally makes his flying machine work, and a secret revolutionary order called the Brotherhood of Freedom, led by the mysterious Natas, recruits him. With a fleet of airships they intervene in a great war between the European powers, and Arnold falls in love with Natas’s daughter Natasha.
