Jean Cabot says goodbye to her brother Tom and heads for Ashton, a women’s college near Boston, where she rooms with Elizabeth Frances Fairfax in Merton Hall. Her freshman year brings the reception, initiation pranks, a trip to the Harvard-Yale game, Thanksgiving with family and a mystery over some coral beads.
