Francis Higginson sailed for Massachusetts Bay in 1629 as minister to the new settlement at Salem, and his short description of New England’s soil, fish, fowl, climate and native people was printed in London to draw more colonists. This edition reproduces it in its original spelling alongside his agreement with the company and his day-by-day journal of the voyage.
One of the earliest English accounts of Puritan New England, a primary source for anyone studying the colonies. Download the free EPUB.
