Arthur Cheney Train was an American lawyer-turned-author who created Ephraim Tutt, one of the most popular fictional lawyers in twentieth-century American literature. By Advice of Counsel collects Tutt stories in which the wily old attorney uses his knowledge of legal technicalities to defend the downtrodden against the powerful — often with considerable comedy.
Train’s stories were widely read in the Saturday Evening Post and appeared in numerous collections. This free public-domain EPUB is a fine introduction to the charming world of Ephraim Tutt, available to download at Better Gutenberg.
