A collection of original fairy stories and playful tales mixing fun with fancy, from a Sleeping Beauty who dreams to an old-fangled father and his new-fangled sons, a little picture girl, a gamekeeper’s daughter and an adventure on the Fifth of November. The book was illustrated by a remarkable roster of artists, among them Arthur Rackham, Hugh Thomson and Bernard Partridge.
