Dictated in the 1840s to Martha Coray, this is Lucy Mack Smith’s account of her family and her son Joseph Smith. She tells of hard years on New England farms, the family’s move to New York, Joseph’s visions and the coming forth of the Book of Mormon, and the persecutions that followed the new church to Missouri and Illinois.
