Claude de Mailly moves through the Hall of Mirrors and the intrigues of Louis XV’s court until he is forced to bid it farewell. Exiled to colonial Maryland, he arrives among the plantations and society of Annapolis in full court costume and meets Deborah Trevor, whose world could hardly be less like Versailles.
A lush historical romance spanning two worlds; its picture of plantation life reflects the attitudes of 1901. Download the free EPUB.
