The Victorian artist who signed herself E. V. B. retells the old tale in her own words: the merchant who wanders into the Beast’s garden, the youngest daughter who goes in his place, the nightly proposal she refuses, and her jealous sisters, with small scenes of her own invention such as the scarlet cloak given to an old watch-dog.
A graceful Victorian version of the fairy tale, lovely to read aloud. Download the free EPUB.
