Der kleine Dämon (The Petty Demon) is a major novel by Fyodor Sologub (1863–1927), one of the leading figures of Russian Symbolism. The original Russian work, written in the 1890s and published in 1907, follows a provincial schoolteacher whose paranoia and pettiness descend into a kind of demonic madness — a dark satire of provincial Russian life and human smallness. This edition is in German translation (Deutsch).
Sologub’s novel was celebrated across Europe in its day and remains a landmark of the Silver Age of Russian literature. This free EPUB download brings it to German-language readers in its public-domain form.
