Harry Carter of Prussia Cove, born in 1749, tells in his own Cornish spelling how he and his brothers ran contraband along the Cornish coast, clashed with the revenue men and took to flight when the law closed in. His story is also one of conscience, as the smuggler turns to Methodist prayer and preaching.
A unique first-person record of eighteenth-century smuggling, preserved from the original manuscript. Download the free EPUB.
