A fifteen-year-old of mixed Saxon and Norman blood watches the Earl of Evesham’s knights gather and soon finds himself in the thick of things: dealing with outlaws in the English forests, storming Wortham Hold, then sailing east with Richard I. Pirates, the Princess Berengaria, the tournament lists and captivity among the Saracens all lie on the road to his knighthood.
Henty at his most straightforward, ideal for young readers who like their history told through sword-work and loyalty. Download the free EPUB.
