A newly qualified nurse, convinced she was not made for love, is the happiest girl at a New York ball until one o’clock, when a woman wearing a great diamond is found dead in an alcove. Suspicion falls on Anson Durand, the man she cares for, and she sets out to clear him, working with and sometimes ahead of the police inspector.
