Published in 1821 by a man who served as a boy in Marion’s militia, this account follows the Swamp Fox’s brigade from its rise in June 1780 to its disbanding in December 1782, through partisan fighting in the South Carolina lowcountry against Tarleton, Watson and the Loyalists. An appendix prints letters between Marion and General Nathanael Greene.
