Unknown for more than two centuries, Thomas Traherne’s poems were rescued from manuscript by Bertram Dobell, whose introduction tells the story and places him beside Herbert and Vaughan. The poems, including The Salutation, Wonder, Eden, Innocence and The Preparative, celebrate the soul’s first sight of the world with ecstatic, childlike joy.
