After troubles at home, young Hugh Tunstall crosses the Atlantic to make his way in the American West. Among the cowboys of New Mexico and the northern territories he learns to ride, shoot and deal horses, drives cattle and fights off raiders on the plains and in the mountains. Henty’s portrait of Native Americans carries the attitudes of 1890.
One of Henty’s few stories set outside history, for readers who enjoy a Victorian take on the cattle range. Download the free EPUB.
