Six Scottish tales from Scribner’s regional series. J. M. Barrie tells of a Thrums weaver’s courtship, S. R. Crockett and Ian Maclaren contribute kailyard sketches of country life, Scott’s Wandering Willie recounts his grandfather’s visit to the dead laird, Professor Aytoun satirises railway speculation, and Stevenson’s minister meets something terrible in Thrawn Janet.
A fine small anthology of Scottish storytelling, mixing humour, sentiment and two of the best ghost tales in the language. Download the free EPUB.
