Miss Terry burns an unwelcome letter and orders a box of childhood rubbish brought to the fire to be destroyed. Out of it come a Jack-in-the-box, a Noah’s ark, a doll named Miranda and a pink paper angel, and each toy carries her back to memories and forward to a tenement full of poor children who might treasure them.
A short, tender Christmas story in the spirit of Dickens, lovely for reading aloud in December. Download the free EPUB.
