Pardoe gathered Arabian, Persian and Turkish tales for young English readers, choosing stories full of wonders but free of the frankness of the Arabian Nights. Hassan Abdallah and the enchanted keys, the basket-maker, the dervish Abounadar, and Soliman Bey with his three story-tellers lead a procession of genies, sultans, merchants and clever paupers.
A generous Victorian collection of Eastern tales, good for reading aloud. Download the free EPUB.
