Sent off by his wife with orders not to return unless he gets the call, a young minister wins the pulpit of St. Cuthbert’s, a Scottish Presbyterian congregation in Canada. He narrates his trial sermon, the formidable elders of his kirk session, his first round of parish visits, births and deaths, a soldier’s child, and the saints, sceptics and pious profligates among his flock.
Gentle, sentimental parish fiction in the kailyard manner, written by a Canadian minister from experience. Download the free EPUB.
