O’Donoghue’s anthology sets out to prove that Irish wit is an ancient tradition, not a stage invention. It gathers comic folk tales, stories in dialect, sketches and verse from many writers, among them the fellow in the goat-skin, Roger and the grey mare, Will o’ the Wisp, and an honest weaver of Duleek with plenty of children.
A generous, good-natured anthology for lovers of Irish storytelling. Download the free EPUB.
