Two early books by Titmarsh in one volume. The Paris pieces range over the July fêtes, French painting, caricature, fashionable novels, George Sand and the trial of Peytel, with tales such as the Painter’s Bargain mixed in. The Irish Sketch Book follows his 1842 tour from a summer day in Dublin out through the towns and coasts of Ireland.
