While an old acquaintance tries to talk Mr. Swift into financing a gold-hunting expedition, Tom sets his mind on a far bigger project: a giant cannon and a new explosive capable of the longest shots on record. Rivals, spies and accidents dog the work, and his loyal giant servant Koku risks his life to save it.
