A sea captain lies dead in a cheap boarding-house with no clue to how he died, and a young detective must find out. The other stories show Wodehouse finding his comic voice: Jeeves rescues Bertie Wooster from the chump Cyril and from Bingo Little’s springtime romance, and Reggie Pepper meets trouble of his own.
An early Wodehouse sampler, fascinating for fans who want to see Jeeves taking shape. Download the free EPUB.
