Wallenstein, Duke of Friedland and commander of the imperial armies, hesitates between loyalty to the Emperor and a secret pact with the Swedes, trusting the stars and his old friend Octavio Piccolomini. Around him gather schemers and soldiers, while Octavio’s son Max and Wallenstein’s daughter Thekla see their love caught between the two fathers.
The climax of Schiller’s Wallenstein trilogy, complete in itself, in a translation by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Download the free EPUB.
