Hawaii’s last king set down the stories of his islands, opening with an account of the tabu system, the old religion and government, before turning to the legends themselves, beginning with Hina, the Helen of Hawaii. Some tales are bound to real political events in Hawaiian history; others are fables and folk-lore of the island group.
A rare collection of Polynesian tradition from the hand of a Hawaiian ruler, edited by Rollin M. Daggett. Download the free EPUB.
