Ruth arrives at the old mansion of her ailing Aunt Selina, and the Blue Birds, a club of girl friends, set out to brighten the old lady’s days while the boys found the Bobolink Boys. Through the winter they start a business, put out a magazine, and listen to Aunt Selina’s Civil War story and an account of a trip to Alaska.
Wholesome club-story fare for young readers, though the dialect given to the Black servant Sally reflects the attitudes of its time. Download the free EPUB.
