Colvin, later the editor of Keats’s letters, wrote this short life for the English Men of Letters series to bring Lord Houghton’s earlier biography up to date. He follows the poet from his London boyhood and medical training through his friendships, the hostile reviews, his love for Fanny Brawne, the great odes and his final journey to Rome.
