Readers had long suspected that Currer, Ellis and Acton Bell were one person. In 1850, with Emily and Anne both dead, Charlotte wrote this notice for a reprint of Wuthering Heights and Agnes Grey, telling how the three sisters came to publish and describing their final illnesses. It is paired here with her preface to the new edition of Wuthering Heights.
A short, moving document that every Brontë reader should know, written by the only sister left. Download the free EPUB.
