Abel, a young Venezuelan on the run from a failed revolution, wanders into the forests of Guayana and lodges among a wary Indian tribe. In woods the tribe fears to enter he hears a voice like birdsong and finds Rima, a strange girl who speaks with the creatures of the forest and lives with an old man who claims to be her grandfather.
