At sixty-one, with every reason to stay home, Crusoe sails back to his island to find the colony left behind there divided, threatened by cannibal raids and in need of governing. From there the voyage carries him to a massacre in Madagascar, to being left ashore in Bengal, and overland from China through Tartary, with long conversations on marriage and faith along the way.
Defoe’s own 1719 sequel, far less read than the original and well worth finding for readers who wondered what happened next. Download the free EPUB.
