Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s Tales of a Wayside Inn (1863–74) is his most ambitious narrative verse project — a framing device modelled on the Canterbury Tales, in which a group of travellers at a New England inn tell stories in verse. The collection includes ‘Paul Revere’s Ride’, arguably the most famous narrative poem in American literature, alongside tales drawn from Norse, Italian, and medieval sources.
Longfellow’s gift for storytelling in verse is at its finest here. This free EPUB presents all three series complete, cleanly formatted with poem and tale divisions clearly preserved.
