Arthur Hornblow was an American theater critic, playwright, and novelist active in the early twentieth century, best known for adapting plays and writing popular entertainment fiction. The Mask: A Story of Love and Adventure is an Edwardian-era romantic adventure in which disguise, intrigue, and romance combine in the fast-paced manner characteristic of popular fiction of the period.
